Our Approach
At JAM Health & Fitness we believe that healthy eating, regular physical activity and positive healthy lifestyle choices are essential ingredients in the recipe for a happy, healthy life.
What does this mean?
At a fundamental level this means:
- fuelling our body with the nutrients needed to operate day to day at an optimal level, help balance our hormones (particularly insulin), maintain a healthy metabolism and a healthy weight, boost mood and energy, support immunity and reduce the risk of chronic lifestyle diseases including Diabetes T2, heart disease and some cancers
- adding physical activity and general movement into our daily routine as often as possible
- regularly exercising our heart, lungs, muscles, joints, and bones to maintain aerobic/CV fitness, strength, flexibility, mobility and balance, particularly as we age
- getting an adequate amount of uninterrupted, restorative sleep by engaging in healthy sleep routines that ready the mind and body for comprehensive and
effective rest, recovery and recharge; - keeping our bodies well hydrated by drinking at least 2 – 2.5 litres of healthy fluids per day; and
- nurturing our mental health by taking time out from daily demands and participating in activities that foster feelings of accomplishment, satisfaction, positivity and joy.
