Meet Mark and Jo, your dedicated coaches at JAM Health & Fitness. With a passion for helping everyday New Zealanders thrive, they combine expert training, lived experience, and genuine care to guide you toward lasting health. Real people, real support, and no judgement … just personalised coaching for a stronger, healthier you.

I am very happy to recommend Jo as a Personal Trainer and Health & Fitness Coach, particularly for older adults, and one with several heath issues. Jo has worked with me for 6 months and throughout this period she has shown exceptional professionalism, patience, and genuine care for my wellbeing. Jo takes the time to understand individual needs, limitations, and goals, and always tailors sessions to take into account my energy levels and to ensure exercises are both safe and effective.

One of my health issues is Diabetes, and although I initially wanted help to strengthen my knee through gentle exercise, Jo has also helped me better understand my condition and how to maintain good BGLs through diet and exercise.

What truly sets Jo apart is her calm and encouraging manner. She explains movements clearly, never rushed, and is highly attentive to posture, balance, and overall safety. This has given me great confidence and has helped me improve my strength, mobility, and energy levels without feeling overwhelmed or at risk of injury.

In addition to her technical knowledge, Jo is reliable, punctual, and kind. I never really enjoyed going to the gym / working out before but Jo creates a positive and motivating environment which makes exercise and being in a gym environment more enjoyable. I would not hesitate to recommend Jo Burrows to any person seeking help with their health and fitness, especially if you’re in the more mature demographic and looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and supportive personal trainer.

Jo has been an absolute life saver!

As a complicated woman with 3 autoimmune diseases (Multiple Sclerosis, Graves’ disease and Vasculitis), young children, a full time stressful job and various medications, I had lost hope in ever losing weight and finding myself again. I was also fearful of using a trainer as I assumed it would be someone who’d yell at me to do things that I was physically not able to do.

Jo however was an amazing personal guide through nutrition, physical fitness and mental health.
